Data Recovery From Packard Bell PCs

I need some help with a Packard Bell Ixtreme which is suffering from power cord failure. I know that this is where the problem lies, as the computer suffered an electrical short yesterday, with a loud banging or popping noise and a flash. Afterwards, there was lots of smoke coming from the back of the unit. Despite replacing the old power unit with a new one, I have not been able to recover the computer. I suppose that I have fried the inside. The problem is that I use this computer for work, and there are not only documents, but also images, photographs and graphs which I need to be able to show my employer. These are all stuck on the computer, and I need to get the data extracted before the computer is replaced.

I need some help with a Packard Bell PC which is relatively new. It was bought two months ago, but yesterday it started putting up a black computer screen while I was working on some documents. I had to reboot it back into the operating system, but whenever I try to open a document, or one of the web browsers, I get this black screen, and have to restart. I can’t move any of my data due to this problem, and this means that I can’t really recover the data at all on my own. I can go into the computer folders and see the files, but as soon as I click on one it goes into this black screen, and the hard drive starts whirring really loudly. I have been trying to recover the information from the drive myself through data recovery programs, but they have not really helped much, and I have not been able to extract my files so far.
