Recovering Data from a Laptop

I have an HP Pavilion 17 which I bought because I wanted a relatively small laptop which would work when I was not able to use the large computer. The problem is that it has started to regularly overheat, even though I have only had the system for a few months. One day to laptop stopped working without warning. The laptop is completely dead and will boot power up, I do not even get to the bios bootup screen.

It was very slow even to start with, but now it has completely failed. I tried at first to recover the system and then install by own software to run it, but this simply made the system slower. I then tried to update BIOS so that it would work faster, but instead, it crashed, and now will not reboot. It does not manage to pass the SMART scanning screen, and instead I just get a message which says ‘please backup files’. It will then say ‘hard drive failure’, and turn itself off. I have tried rebooting several times, but cannot get any further than this message. I certainly cannot get into the Windows screens, and nor can I access any of the drives to recover the data there.
