The Card Was in the Water Too

The decode: the three urgent things, and why the card is the good news

First — take the card out now, and do not put it into anything. A wet card inserted into a reader can short across contacts, which risks the card and the reader together. It must come out of the camera and be allowed to dry completely before it goes near any device. This is the single most likely way to turn a recoverable card into a lost one, and it is exactly what people do first because they want to know.
