Deleted files? We can recover them.

Deleting a file doesn’t wipe it straight away — the data stays on the device until something overwrites it. Stop using the device, and we can often recover deleted files from any hard drive, SSD, USB stick or memory card, in-house.

Stop using the device right now.

Deleted files linger on your device only until fresh data overwrites them — and every photo taken, file saved or app updated can wipe out what’s still recoverable. Don’t save anything new to the device, and don’t install recovery software onto it; set it aside and talk to us. The sooner you stop, the more comes back.

// how the recovery runs

How deleted files come back.

Deleted file recovery is a careful, copy-first job. We never work on your original device — we image it, then recover your files from that copy, in the right order.

01

Free diagnostic

Tell us what was deleted and from which device. We work out whether the data is still there and recoverable, and send a written quote — usually within 48 hours.

02

Image first

We take a forensic image of the device and work only from that copy, so nothing on your original gets changed or overwritten.

03

Scan for deleted files

First we recover files that are still referenced in the file system but flagged as deleted — usually the fastest wins.

04

Deep scan & carve

For anything no longer indexed, we carve it out of the raw data by its file signature — photos, documents, video and more.

05

Verify & preview

We confirm the recovered files open as they should and are intact before any of it comes back to you.

06

Recover the files

Your recovered files go back on fresh media, organised and ready to use.

07

Return your data

We copy your data onto an external drive and post it back, or offer it as a free download for anything up to 75GB.

// what we recover from

Wedding photos accidentally deleted from a camera card.

The card hadn’t been touched since. We imaged it, carved the JPEG and RAW files back out by signature, and recovered almost every shot.

An entire project folder lost after emptying the Recycle Bin.

// getting it to us

Two easy steps.

Send the device in for its free diagnostic and tell us briefly what happened; an engineer reviews it and confirms your exact quote in writing before anything starts.

1

Send us your device

Getting your data back begins with getting the device to us. Pack it up safely, pop your contact details inside, and send it over — once we’ve run the free diagnostic, we’ll confirm your exact price in writing before any work starts.

How to pack it
  • Box the device up in a small, sturdy carton or a padded envelope.
  • You can leave out caddies, cables and power supplies — none of them are needed for the recovery.
  • Pop your details inside — name, address, phone and email, on a slip of paper or via our shipping form — and seal it up.

// questions

Deleted files, answered.

The things people most often ask us about recovering deleted files.

Yes, very often. Deleting a file doesn’t wipe the data — it just flags the space it occupies as free. Until something new is written over that space, the file is usually recoverable. The trick is to stop using the device at once.

Stop using the device straight away. Don’t save anything new to it, don’t take more photos, and don’t install recovery software onto the affected drive — any of those can overwrite the deleted files for good. Then get in touch.

Yes — deleted photos and videos are one of the commonest things we recover. As long as the card hasn’t been shot over heavily since, we can usually carve the images back out of the raw data, even after it’s been emptied.

Sometimes, but the odds are lower than on a hard drive, USB stick or card. Most SSDs run TRIM, which erases deleted data very quickly. We’ll always give you an honest read at the diagnostic stage on what’s realistically recoverable in your case.

Not necessarily. Emptying the bin removes the file’s index entry but leaves the actual data on the drive until it’s overwritten. Stop using the device and we can usually still get it back.

Hard drives, SSDs, USB sticks, SD, microSD and CF cards, external and portable drives, and the disks inside laptops, PCs and Macs. If it stores files, we can usually help.

It’s £250 + VAT for memory cards and USB sticks, and £300 + VAT for hard drives, with a free diagnostic first and no fix, no fee on most jobs. As a logical recovery it’s usually one of our lower-cost services — and we always confirm the exact price in writing before starting.

Most deleted-file recoveries are done inside 1 to 3 working days, often sooner, with the diagnostic usually finished within 48 hours. Genuinely urgent cases can be moved up — just say so.

Every major brand of hard drive, SSD, USB stick and memory card — Samsung, SanDisk, Kingston, Western Digital, Seagate, Lexar, Crucial, Sony, Toshiba, Transcend, PNY, Verbatim, Integral, ADATA, Corsair, Kioxia, Silicon Power, Hitachi, Maxtor and Team Group.

Bring it to our Newcastle location Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, or post it in fully insured. Seal it up and tuck your contact details inside — name, address, phone number and email — so we can book it in. Once it arrives we run the free diagnostic and send a written quote before any work starts.
